rewind. repeat.
replay every scene

until I bleed- tender
memories-
all there is left (of us)

is there a light at the end
of this road-
(the end of our road);

At the bar I ordered
a beer
and it came flat

the waitress smiled
as I said ‘thank you’-
refraining from adding
“like I didn’t feel old enough”

she didn’t ask me for my ID
I never get asked for my ID
no one ever asks me for my ID

but I feel my skin aging
my hair graying
time passing unanxiously

though I am anxious
and this stale beer is not
curing my diseased breath

and now I get the rewind.
replay.
those days of sunshine, love
filled with our love

and now loneliness creeps
its way into my aging
(broken) heart

give me another flat beer
please
while I bleed down here
(with a void, your absence)
